Michael Gadlin - Frankincense and Myrrh

Artists Michael Gadlin and Aliki McCain shared the vision of building out a place that not only showcases fine art but serves as a setting for art education, creation and community gatherings. They are proud to announce the realization of this vision with the opening of ArtHaus, their new contemporary gallery, studio and flex-space at 3343 Larimer Street in Denver’s RiNo Art District. The exhibit entitled “Prelude to France” starts on November 2 in conjunction with Denver Arts Week and runs through November 30, 2012. It will showcase a body of abstract paintings recently created by Gadlin who will be away for 6 weeks attending an invitational residency at the La Napoule Arts Foundation in France. The community is welcome to visit the new space Monday through Friday 10am-3pm.

Michael Gadlin has been dedicated to solving the concerns of making art for over 18 years. As a very young artist, Gadlin studied drawing and painting at the Art Students League of Denver, then went on to study at the prestigious Pratt Institute in New York where he advanced his skills in art. In 1999 Gadlin was the youngest artist ever to win “Best Of Show” at Denver’s nationally renowned Cherry Creek Arts Festival. Exhibiting in select galleries and museums nationwide, Michael has been commissioned by governments, Fortune 100 corporations and private collectors. Upon receiving numerous awards, most recently, Gadlin has been invited to work in France, through La Napoule Arts Foundation. His artistic conviction that “Direct expressionism is the most meaningful reflection of life” has prompted the evolution of an extremely cogent body of work. While away in France he will be working in the studio at La Napoule, producing a new series he will exhibit at ArtHaus inspired by his trip to France.

Abstract Painter and Co-owner Aliki McCain obtained her Masters of Fine Art and her Masters in Art History at University of California, Irvine. She is interested in the human condition and examines these relationships in her work. As a photo realist drawer, she currently challenges herself to see things abstractly and solve problems as they occur organically in the painting process. As with Gadlin, her private studio is located at ArtHaus.

ArtHaus is a 5,100 square foot flexible gallery space with lots of natural light and an open, loft-like feel. It is the perfect venue for special events including meetings, weddings, fashion shows, tradeshows, fundraising galas and even serves as great location for photography shoots. It includes a spacious side gallery that can be closed off for smaller art exhibits or classes or opened to be a part of the larger space. Its location at 3343 Larimer Street in Denver’s RiNo Art District allows for ample available street parking in addition to a number of dedicated on-site spaces. ArtHaus is now taking reservations for private rentals at 303-292-1965. Visitors are welcome Monday through Friday 10:00 to 3:00 and by appointment. For more information visit www.arthausdenver.com.
