Now Artspace Gallery located on Tennyson St. in Denver, is proud to present emerging artist Jessica Schramm as their solo artist for the month of July. The Gallery Opening is from (6-9pm) Friday, July 3rd. Jessica has been in the studio working on numerous new pieces to be unveiled at the opening. A special range of hors devours and beverages will be provided for the event and all are welcome. Tennyson First Friday artwalk http://www.denverartwalk.com/ is a great way to spend a summer night. As you may have already noticed, there have been many changes in the neighborhood. There have been many new businesses opened over the last few months, new artists' studios, restaurants, and shops. The First Friday Artwalk and Stroll is a great time to visit these businesses and see what it is that they bring to the community.

The opening event will also be including local high end Audio/Video guru Ken Davis owner of 8250 Theaterworks in Evergreen. http://www.8250theaterworks.com. He has paired up with the artist to present something really new and special to the art community. Ken will be providing high end Audio equipment and music for the event and will be unveiling a very special pair of one of a kind custom speakers painted by the artist. Jessica Schramm is a newer addition to the ever growing Denver Art Community and has never felt so at home. The California native has been very inspired by the surrounding nature and has already been lucky enough to show during the Juried Show at Spark Gallery on Santa Fe. After her painting received some admiring attentions she decided to try a show of her own.

NOW Artspace has given her that chance and she has been hard at work ever since. “I spend about 5-6 hours in the studio on a working day, Jessica says, I am that person that can’t be lazy. I have this one shot and I am not going to blow it.” Jessica’s work is an interesting range of talents. Her paintings which are mostly done in oil range in size from 1 1/2 inches to 7 feet tall. She is really inspired by the Renaissance period and she likes to bring beauty and drama into every piece of art. Even the tiny paintings hold the same detail as her large ones. “I am going a little blind focusing so hard on the tiny paintings but I have a lot to say and only a little space to work with.” Jessica attained her Bachelor of Arts in Painting at Long Beach State University and her Masters Degree in Painting at California State University, Northridge although having to leave 10 units shy of her degree she hopes to complete her remaining requirements in Boulder.

In her artist statement Jessica explains her only focus in creating art is to share her passions with the world. “I have no real interest in being rich or famous I just want to get as much beauty out into this world as possible. I think with everything else going on in the world the last thing anyone needs to see is something depressing, my art is anything but, its about inspiration and what makes humans amazing creatures. I like to think our abilities to make money and survive pale in comparison to our abilities to create.” Her title ”Fates and Muses” explains it all. “We are all pushed and pulled by these forces in our life. Good or bad they mold us into who we are. All of my paintings are about finding inspiration in all places....including oneself. “Fates and Muses” opens on July 3rd.
